Proyecto de Periodismo para Jóvenes Estudiantes
Harbingers en Español es un proyecto educativo diseñado para estudiantes de secundaria interesados en adquirir habilidades fundamentales de periodismo. En esta edición, el programa cuenta con la participación de un grupo diverso de jóvenes de entre 16 y 18 años, provenientes de distintas regiones de América Latina. Cada uno de ellos ha demostrado un gran interés en aprender los principios del periodismo, con el objetivo de transformar sus inquietudes en historias impactantes.
Este proyecto se basa en el curso de periodismo esencial, una formación práctica que cubre las bases y los fundamentos del oficio periodístico. Los estudiantes aprenderán técnicas clave como la redacción de noticias, la investigación, la ética periodística y el manejo de entrevistas, siempre bajo la guía de periodistas experimentados. A lo largo del curso, se les desafiará a poner en práctica estas habilidades mediante la creación de contenido propio, el cual será evaluado y editado por profesionales del medio.
Uno de los aspectos más destacados del programa es la colaboración directa con periodistas veteranos de América Latina e instructores internacionales, quienes aportarán una perspectiva global y diversa al proceso de aprendizaje. Estos mentores guiarán a los estudiantes en cada etapa del proyecto, compartiendo sus experiencias y conocimientos adquiridos en el campo. La interacción con profesionales establecidos no solo refuerza el aprendizaje, sino que también ofrece una visión realista de lo que implica trabajar en el mundo del periodismo en la actualidad.
Al finalizar el curso, los jóvenes no solo habrán adquirido una sólida base teórica y práctica, sino que también habrán experimentado lo que significa contar historias relevantes, éticas y responsables. El curso está supervisado por la tutora Carolina Loza León
Journalism Project for High School Students
Harbingers en Español is an educational project designed for high school students interested in developing foundational journalism skills. This edition features a diverse group of young participants, aged 16 to 18, from various regions of Latin America. Each of them has shown a keen interest in learning the principles of journalism, with the goal of turning their curiosity into impactful stories.
The program is built around an essential journalism course, a hands-on training that covers the basics and core foundations of the craft. Students will learn key techniques such as news writing, research, journalistic ethics, and interview skills, all while being guided by seasoned journalists. Throughout the course, they will be challenged to apply these skills by creating their own content, which will be reviewed and edited by professional journalists.
One of the highlights of the program is the direct collaboration with veteran journalists from Latin America and international tutors, who bring a global and diverse perspective to the learning process. These mentors will guide the students through each stage of the project, sharing their personal experiences and insights from working in the field. Interaction with established professionals not only strengthens their learning but also gives the students a realistic view of what it means to work in the world of journalism today.
By the end of the course, the students will have gained a solid theoretical and practical foundation and will have experienced firsthand what it means to tell relevant, ethical, and responsible stories. The course is overseen by OXSFJ tutor Carolina Loza León.
